Premier League Extra 90 Plus Campaign

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

The 2007/8 football season saw proportionally more goals scored per minute in added time than at any other point in the Game, and how teams perform in this time has a crucial role in determining their end of season positions.

This season, added time has already played a critical role. Spurs achieved a dramatic draw with Arsenal with an Aaron Lennon equaliser and a winning goal against Liverpool in added time, whilst Liverpool themselves have also won two games with added time goals. Most recently both Everton and Aston Villa scored in the 4 minutes of added time at Goodison Park whilst Manchester United scored a 91st minute winner against Sunderland. Spurs, Liverpool, Stoke and Blackburn are the most effective teams in added time so far this season having scored the most crucial, result changing goals post 90 minutes. At the other end of the table Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Newcastle have lost out on points in these minutes that matter.

To launch the Extra90plus campaign here is a video showing some cracking injury time goals followed by a chat with Teddy Sheringham who claims to be up for a challenge if you are in the market for a striker.
